CAFY offers a variety of groups - Survivors Who Are Free and Empowerment (SAFE) as a source of support, empowerment and education. The SAFE groups offered by CAFY are groups which address the impacts of violence and crime on individuals, families and communities. Groups can reduce feelings of isolation and provide a safe place to speak, listen and discover common feelings, thoughts and coping tips. Below are a few of the groups offered by CAFY: Support groups have one or two designated facilitator(s) rather then a therapist running the group. The groups are "open" meaning that an individual does not have to commit to regular attendance. Support groups by nature have an agenda that is driven by the group. The goals tend to be less specific and more emphasis is placed on support and education rather then on promoting a specific type of change or growth.
